CSS Success Story: The Inspiring Journey of ASP Tayyab Wazir

Clearing the CSS exam in Pakistan is often considered one of the toughest academic and professional milestones. Yet, the story of ASP Tayyab Wazir, who qualified for CSS-2020 and joined the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), proves that while CSS is demanding, it is not impossible.

Tayyab’s journey toward success began in school when he started collecting CSS past papers as early as the 8th grade. Unlike many who stumble into the field later in life, he had set his eyes on becoming a police officer more than a decade before he actually succeeded. His passion guided his academic choices — leaving behind the medical track, he pursued Political Science at Government College University, Lahore, followed by an MPhil in Defense and Strategic Studies at Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad.

Balancing postgraduate studies and CSS preparation was no easy feat. He recalls October 4, 2018, as the day he officially began his CSS journey with his first topic: “Ideology of Pakistan.” From that point onward, it was a test of perseverance, discipline, and unwavering commitment.

In his reflections, Tayyab emphasizes a few critical lessons for CSS aspirants:

Commitment, proper guidance, and hard work form the foundation of CSS success.
The English Essay and Precis remain the make-or-break factor for most candidates.
Writing in simple, clear English is far more effective than verbosity or complex vocabulary.
Aspirants should rely on self-prepared notes from authentic sources instead of outdated or irrelevant materials.
A consistent study pattern, with mornings dedicated to English and afternoons to optional subjects, can create balance and focus.

Beyond academics, Tayyab stresses the importance of resilience: “Every champion was once a novice. Every successful individual has faced failures. Stay humble, stay positive, and never give up.”

His success story is not just about clearing CSS; it’s about proving that dreams backed by consistency and dedication can become reality. Today, as ASP in the Police Service of Pakistan, Tayyab Wazir stands as an inspiration for thousands of aspirants across the country.
